Refusing the image of the history of time as a trajectory moving smoothly forward across, my art projects grapple with temporality, both universal and personal.
In the tradition of testing procedures, rather than personal expression, I incorporate Chance as a structure to study time. Casting dice, selecting cards randomly, flipping coins, or drawing numbers in a hat allow me to explore the juncture in time and space that coincides when the Chance operation is set forth.
Rethinking the notion of time through my continuous interest in the relationship between performance and publishing, I use the printed page and the body as a medium and material. Associating them with the architectural edifice or landscape where they exist.
